Guatemala Huehuetenango

Huehuetenango (it's so fun to say!) is the highest and driest of Guatemala's non-volcanic regions. The coffees here grow at over 1,500 meters above sea level and are washed processed at mills served by abundant local streams. This helps the coffee develop flavor notes of sweet caramel & chocolate, and tart berry & orange in the cup.

Region

Huehuetenango lies in western Guatemala, about 2 hours from the Mexican border. This renowned region owes much to the dry, hot winds that come in from the mountains of Mexico's Tehuantepec plain. The additional heat layers protect Huehuetenango from frost and enable ideal microclimates for growing coffee at higher altitudes.
